Vision
A family friendly paddle sports club, that's safe, inclusive, fun, allowing members of all ages and abilities to enjoy paddle sports and allowing all to develop their skills to whatever level they want through qualified coaching.
Aims
Core - Providing opportunity for anyone interested in paddle sport to paddle in a safe and family friendly club.
Family Friendly - We want everyone to enjoy being part of the Thameswey family and enjoy canoeing, kayaking, SUP boarding and sea kayaking; getting the most out of the paddle sports of their choice
Skill Development - To provide coaching and skill development for those who want to improve their skills and to get everyone on the water, whatever their individual needs or impairments
Safe and secure - To be fully compliant with Paddle UK policies
Inclusivity - To embrace diversity and inclusivity and to provide the opportunity to enjoy different paddling opportunities suitable to everyone's abilities from the age of 7 upwards
Environmental Stewardship - To promote respect and care for our waterways, encouraging environmentally responsible practices among all members.
Fun and Enjoyment - To ensure that all activities are enjoyable, fun and engaging, fostering a lifelong love for canoeing and outdoor adventures.
Objectives
- A full team of qualified coaches across all paddle sports
- Upgrading coaches qualifications in line with Paddle UK
- Safeguarding trained coaches
- Safe practices with documented processes and risk assessments
- Club maintains a full set of paddle craft for all ages and abilities and to provide adapted equipment where possible
- Weekly Wednesday paddle evenings and Monthly Sunday mornings for all members during the season
- Regular Club trips for members of all Skill levels and abilities
- Social events to allow people to meet and get to know other members and coaches
- Accepted by Paddle UK as a 'top' club
